Attorney Amie K. Alexander has been recognized as one of the Outstanding Pro Bono Attorneys of the Year. The honor is given each year by the Legal Aid of Arkansas on Law Day to honor those attorneys who have dedicated their time to those in need.
Amie has donated more than 45 pro bono hours to low-income communities who would otherwise not have access to legal services.
“Legal Aid wants to recognize Ms. Alexander for selfless commitment to the cause of the impoverished, the defenseless, or the oppressed through volunteer service to the Clients of Legal Aid of Arkansas, “said Billy McKenzie, Pro Bono Coordinator of Legal Aid of Arkansas.
Amie’s practice is focused in the area of healthcare where she works primarily on various corporate and compliance matters. She drafts and reviews policies to ensure compliance with federal healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, Stark I and Stark II, Anti-Kickback and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement.
