Attorney Harry A. Light was one of the recipients of the Pro Bono Service Awards given by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) Board of Directors. The award was presented Thursday, January 30 at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service inside the Clinton Presidential Center.
The award is in recognition of his extraordinary commitment to equal justice. For more than seven years, Harry has helped Legal Aid of Arkansas by traveling monthly from Little Rock to the small rural community of Clarendon to provide pro bono help focusing on wills and estates, housing, guardianship and consumer law.
Dean James L. "Skip" Rutherford, University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, provided the opening remarks. Harry was presented the award by LSC Board Member Frank Neuner who was joined by LSC President Jim Sandman and Board Chairman John Levi.

Harry practices in the areas of bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, commercial litigation and trademark/copyright applications. In the bankruptcy area, he has represented creditors in protecting their collateral, pursuing creditor objections to discharge and dischargeability of debts, represented purchasers in acquiring assets from bankruptcy estates and defended creditors in bankruptcy adversary proceedings.
Legal Services Corporation (LSC) is an independent nonprofit established by Congress in 1974 to provide financial support for civil legal aid to low-income Americans. The Corporation currently provides funding to 132 independent nonprofit legal aid programs in every state, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories.
