Friday, Eldredge & Clark, LLP is proud to welcome attorney Robert W. George to the firm where he will serve as senior counsel in the commercial litigation practice area. George will be based in the Rogers office of the firm and work in both federal and state courts representing clients in environmental and toxic tort claims, as well as commercial disputes. His practice will also include the handling of claims involving fraud, theft, unfair competition and trade secrets, false advertising and trademark infringement.

George has spent 20 years developing his practice and immediately prior to joining the firm he was the vice president of litigation and regulatory affairs for Tyson Foods, Inc. At Tyson, he led a team of lawyers responsible for regulatory compliance, civil and criminal litigation management, patent prosecution and internal investigations. This previous experience as corporate counsel for 10 years in the food industry equips him with a specific skillset and extensive knowledge of regulatory and liability issues arising from the production, labeling and marketing of food products. He frequently represented Tyson’s interests with government regulators and policy makers at both the state and federal levels.

Prior to joining Tyson, he practiced law at both a regional and a national law firm, where he worked closely with several large Fortune 200 corporations.

“We are very excited to have Robert George join the firm and the benefits his experience as both inside counsel at Tyson Foods and a seasoned trial lawyer will bring to our clients,” said J. Shepherd Russell III, managing partner of Friday, Eldredge & Clark.

George received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Arkansas State University in 1995 and his juris doctor degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1998.
