Gov. Asa Hutchinson today appointed Price C. Gardner of Little Rock, a partner with Friday, Eldredge & Clark, LLP and 1984 graduate of Arkansas State University, to a five-year term on the ASU Board of Trustees. In addition to being a partner in the state’s largest law firm, Gardner also serves as vice chairman of Friday, Eldredge & Clark’s Management Committee.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson today appointed Price C. Gardner of Little Rock, a partner with Friday, Eldredge & Clark, LLP and 1984 graduate of Arkansas State University, to a five-year term on the ASU Board of Trustees.
ASU System President Chuck Welch said Gardner is a longtime supporter of the university who will be a strong addition to the board.
“Mr. Gardner is a highly regarded A-State alumnus who is well known in the Arkansas legal and financial communities,” Welch said. “He has been very active with the university through the years, and we’re proud to have another A-State alumnus contributing to the growth and success of the ASU System.”
Gardner said,
“I’m excited about the opportunity to serve my alma mater and the rest of the ASU System and appreciate Governor Hutchinson for giving me this opportunity. It will be a privilege to work with my fellow trustees and Dr. Welch to build on the ASU System’s momentum and growth.”
In addition to being a partner in the state’s largest law firm, Gardner also serves as vice chairman of Friday, Eldredge & Clark’s Management Committee.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in accounting at Arkansas State and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law in 1988. He also has a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree in taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
He is a member of Arkansas and American Bar Associations, the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Arkansas Repertory Theatre Board, the Red Wolves Foundation and Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He is a 1924 Sustaining Life Member of the ASU Alumni Association.
While at Arkansas State, he was a four-year football letterman, two-time All-Southland Conference selection and three-time Southland Conference All-Academic Team.
The ASU System, based in Little Rock, serves 23,000 students throughout Arkansas and includes Arkansas State University, a four-year research institution in Jonesboro with an instructional site in Paragould; ASU-Beebe, with additional campuses in Heber Springs and Searcy and an instructional site at the Little Rock Air Force Base; ASU-Mountain Home; ASU-Newport, with additional campuses in Jonesboro and Marked Tree; and ASU Mid-South in West Memphis.
