Firm Announces Second Year of the Friday Forward Fellowship

March 2, 2022

Friday, Eldredge & Clark, LLP is proud to announce its continued efforts to promote diversity in the law profession by continuing its Friday Forward Fellowship.

The objective of the Fellowship, established in 2021, is to increase the number of law school students from diverse backgrounds. Recognizing that diversity includes many human differences such as race, ethnicity, sexual and gender identity, military service, socioeconomic status, faith and beliefs, disability status, immigrant upbringing, and other conditions, Friday, Eldredge & Clark is committed to seeking out these students and encourage them to become members of the Arkansas legal profession.

"We are very excited about the opportunities that the Friday Forward Fellowship has provided and will continue to provide. We want to help facilitate access to our law schools and the legal profession for those who have historically not had this access." said Price C. Gardner, managing partner at Friday, Eldredge & Clark.

So far, two 2021 Friday Forward Fellows have been accepted into law school and both received scholarships.

"The program mentorship and access to resources helped me make my dream of going to law school a reality," said Amber Watson, a 2021 Friday Forward Fellow. Watson has been accepted to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law and will begin classes in the Fall of 2022.

The Friday Forward Fellowship committee, comprised of attorneys, Arkansas law school administrators, and faculty members, will accept up to 10 Fellows into the 2022 Fellowship program. These Fellows will receive financial aid to attend LSAT prep courses, testing fees and for course materials and one-on-one mentorship with a Friday, Eldredge & Clark attorney. Mentor attorneys will work with each Fellow throughout their law school experience by providing advice and guidance to help them succeed in school and their legal careers.

Applicants must currently be attending or a recent graduate of an Arkansas 4-year college or university, interested in the legal profession, and consider themselves part of a diverse minority.
