Chambers & Partners Recognizes “Leaders in Their Fields”

Chambers and Partners© has recognized Friday, Eldredge & Clark and five of the firm’s trust and estate planning attorneys in its 2020 edition of Chambers High Net Worth Guide. The guide covers private wealth management work in key areas around the world, and its rankings are based on extensive research and in-depth interviews with clients and industry leaders. In addition to the individual attorneys recognized, the firm received the highest ranking awarded by Chambers.

The attorneys named “leaders in their fields” are: W. Thomas Baxter, Katie Watson Bingham, Byron M. Eiseman Jr., Sarah Cotton Patterson and K. Coleman Westbrook Jr.

Tom is the head of the Trust and Estate Planning Practice Group, serves on the firm’s Manage-ment Committee and is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). He focuses his practice on tax planning for individuals and businesses, estate planning, the administration of trusts and estates, and probate matters.  He also represents clients in state and local tax matters, tax controversies, and issues of general business and corporate taxation.

Katie** is a partner in the Trust and Estate Planning Practice Group and holds a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Florida. Her areas of practice include estate planning, estate and trust administration, estate and gift taxation, tax planning for individuals, entity formation, probate matters and formation and planning for exempt organizations.

Byron,* a former managing partner of the firm, concentrates his practice on estate planning, pro-bate and estate administration and taxation. He is a Fellow in ACTEC and a Fellow in the American College of Tax Counsel.

Sarah is a Fellow in ACTEC and focuses her practice on estate, trust and tax matters for individuals, as well as entity formation and business planning. She also advises non-profit and tax-exempt organizations on formation, planning and tax issues. She has represented many varied estates over the years, including probate proceedings and trust administration.

Coleman is a Fellow in ACTEC and his practice consists of performing analysis and planning for individuals with regard to gift, estate and generation-skipping transfer taxes; charitable and other life-time and testamentary transfers; probate and estate, trust and non-profit/tax-exempt administration. Westbrook’s practice includes the drafting of and advising wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, beneficiary designations and beneficiary deeds with regard to testamentary planning.

The Trust and Estate Planning Practice Group includes eight attorneys practicing in the firm’s Little Rock and Rogers offices. Many of the attorneys in the group are Certified Public Accountants (inactive) and all have Master of Laws in Taxation. The group works with individuals and businesses to address the important aspects of their financial situation including personal tax planning, business planning, retirement planning, planning for disability, risk management, asset protection, family legacy and philanthropy.
