Sarah Patterson Named UA Little Rock Adjunct Professor of Law

Sarah Cotton Patterson has been appointed as an adjunct professor of tax law at the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law for the 2018-2019 school year. Sarah is a partner at Friday, Eldredge & Clark, LLP and has practiced law for 17 years as part of the firm’s Trust and Estate Planning Practice Group.

Sarah received her law degree from the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville) in 2000. She has taught estate and gift tax law at the Bowen School of Law since 2005. She taught under the guidance of her predecessor Byron M. Eiseman, Jr. who recently retired from teaching after 50 years. 

“To be able to learn from and work with that kind of attorney has been really amazing,” Sarah said. “He has been a tremendous mentor  and I am proud to follow in his footsteps and continue his legacy.”

The estate and gift tax class focuses on providing a comprehensive review of federal estate and gift taxes. 

Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting and financial management from the University of Arkansas in 1997 and after law school received a master’s in taxation from New York University. She is an certified public accountant (inactive) and Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
