Michael Moore presented three separate programs at last week's (Thursday, Oct. 24) National Business Institute's Advanced Employment Law Seminar. His first presentation, "Conducting an Effective Internal Investigation," focused on what to consider during the investigation, whether to outsource or keep the matter in-house and ways to legally remedying the problem.
"Deciphering FMLA, ADA and Workers' Compensation Issues" outlined what the law really says about these issues and how the three interact with each other and state laws. He also provided tips for drafting policies to work together and for medical leave.
His final presentation, "Responding to EEOC and State Agency Charges," went through the steps necessary to evaluate a claim, best practices in investigation and position statements as potential evidence in litigation.
