Earlier this month the firm partnered with local banking institutions to bring the 2017 Tax Planning Update Seminar to both the Texarkana and Fort Smith areas.
On Thursday, May 11th the seminar was hosted locally by Farmers Bank & Trust in Texarkana. By partnering with a local host, the firm is able to connect with local professionals in their area and provide them the continuing education they need.
"Bringing experts to the communities we serve for continuing education is a win-win for us," said Todd Smith, EVP of Trust and Asset Management at Farmers Bank and Trust. "It is our desire to meet the needs of the professional advisors in our area, and one way we do that is by connecting them to the subject matter experts in their home setting. Building community to us means not forcing professionals to travel in order to obtain high-caliber education content."
On Thursday, May 18th the seminar was co-hosted by First National Bank of Fort Smith and the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.
"By providing high-quality educational material to local professionals, the firm is an invaluable asset to our community," said Barbara Bethell, Vice President and Trust Officer at First National Bank of Fort Smith. "Accountants, attorneys and other financial professionals need local access to the latest information, ideas and law changes to keep up to date."
More than 30 area CPAs and other professionals attended each event to learn the latest in retirement plans and compensation packages, the uncertainty over the future of healthcare, estate planning for 2017 and beyond and planning for the sale of a closely held business.
Speakers included Attorneys David M. Graf, Joshua M. Osborne, Coleman Westbrook and Robert T. Smith.
