James Saxton, the head of the Real Estate Practice Group at FEC, recently presented at the National Business Institute’s Sales and Use Tax for Manufacturers Seminar. The program provided information for those in the manufacturing field and reviewed recent legislative developments affecting manufacturers and targeted some of the areas of sales and use tax exposure for manufacturers.
James Saxton, the head of the Real Estate Practice Group at FEC, recently presented at the National Business Institute’s Sales and Use Tax for Manufacturers Seminar. The program provided information for those in the manufacturing field and reviewed recent legislative developments affecting manufacturers and targeted some of the areas of sales and use tax exposure for manufacturers.
Jim presented two programs at the seminar. The first focused on machinery and equipment exemption and the second provided details on exemptions as they relate to the service of machinery and equipment.
Jim has extensive experience representing a variety of business entities in like-kind 1031 exchange transactions, and formation of equity real estate investment entities. A substantial portion of his practice involves representing clients with respect to all types of state and local taxes, including sales and use, income taxes, property taxes and assessment challenges and economic inducements.
