Focus on our Community

Since its inception, our law firm has enjoyed much success in Arkansas, and as a result, we have a strong commitment to return a portion of our prosperity back to our community and state.

As a firm, we make significant financial contributions to a large number of charitable organizations each year. A commitment to community service is also deeply ingrained in the firm’s culture. We know that we are the beneficiaries when we participate in professional, civic, and charitable organizations, so we strive to be active, effective contributors to the state as well as our community. Our state and our profession deserve our committed efforts to be good members and citizens. Over the years, the firm’s management has modeled an ethic of community service through their own strong leadership in a wide variety of community organizations. Today nearly all of the firm’s attorneys volunteer in community and civic organizations. The firm’s staff employees also are actively involved in many church, youth, civic, and community organizations. Our attorneys and staff serve at significant leadership levels in more than 100 community and civic organizations in the areas of youth, education, health, religion, arts, civic, environmental and humanitarian services. Our contribution of professional and leadership skills enhances the capacity for strong performance of the many organizations we serve, and through them, we strive to have a positive impact upon communities throughout the state.

Our lawyers are actively involved as leaders and members of the American, Arkansas, Pulaski County, Washington County, and Benton County Bar Associations. We are honored that Herschel Friday, Fred Ursery and Jim Simpson were chosen to serve as President of the Arkansas Bar Association. We are often asked to provide programs at continuing legal education seminars for the benefit of members of the Arkansas Bar Association, and several of our attorneys are adjunct members of the faculty at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Law School. Through the Arkansas Bar Foundation, we provide scholarships for students at the state’s law schools.

We are committed to making sure that the neediest citizens are entitled to adequate legal representation. Each year we provide financial support and the donation of free legal services to a variety of organizations, including the Volunteers Organization for Central Arkansas Legal Services (VOCALS).
