William A. Waddell Jr. has received the Sidney S. McMath Professionalism Award from the Pulaski County Bar Association.
Colleagues, friends, and members of the legal community gathered at the Robinson Center on May 21 as the award was presented in recognition of Bill’s professionalism, integrity, ethics, and civility throughout his legal career.
Bill has been part of Friday, Eldredge & Clark LLP for more than 40 years and now serves as Of Counsel to the firm. A member of the firm’s litigation practice group, he has handled complex litigation and regulatory matters for banks, insurance companies, healthcare entities, and other businesses. His practice has included class actions, high-stakes jury trials, and appellate matters.
Throughout his career, Bill has been known not only for his litigation practice but also for his mentorship, professionalism, and longstanding commitment to pro bono service and access to justice efforts in Arkansas and beyond.
His contributions to the legal profession have earned numerous honors, including the Arkansas Bar Association’s Outstanding Lawyer Award and the American Bar Association’s Pro Bono Publico Award. He will also receive the Arkansas Bar Association’s Golden Gavel Award during this year’s ABA Annual Meeting.
Bill is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Bar Foundation and is a member of the United Methodist Church’s denominational Judicial Council.
