The 2021 session of the Arkansas General Assembly ended in April and several new laws were enacted regarding trust and estate matters. The following is a general review of each new law and what changes it might mean for you in the future.

Friday, Eldredge & Clark, LLP has hired Attorney Caleb D. Hollinger as the newest member of the firm’s Trust and Estate Planning Group. Hollinger joins the firm after graduating from the University of Florida Levin College of Law where he earned a Master of Laws in Taxation.

To say Attorney Jamie Huffman Jones is involved in the Arkansas Bar Association would be an understatement. Having joined in 2003 at the start of her career, she has made participation in the bar’s initiatives a major focus outside the courtroom. She has volunteered to serve on various committees and task forces, held leadership positions on the Board of Trustees and led both the Annual Meeting in 2021 and the Mid-Year Meeting in 2020.

Friday, Eldredge & Clark has been selected to join the Employment Law Alliance (ELA) as the exclusive member for Arkansas.

Attorney William A. Waddell Jr. was honored for his contributions to Arkansas Lawyer Magazine at the Arkansas Bar Association's Annual Meeting. He was awarded the 2021 Maurice Cathey Award by the association as well as the Best General Writing Award for his article "Privilegium" which was published in the Winter 2021 issue of the magazine.

Attorney Lindsey Emerson Raines is the recipient of the Arkansas Bar Association's Annual CLE Award. She is recognized for her contributions to the association's CLE program and for her work in the planning of the Debtor/Creditor Law Conference.

Attorney Jamie Huffman Jones is the recipient of the 2021 Golden Gavel Award given by the Arkansas Bar Association. She is being honored for her valued contributions as the Co-Chair of the group's annual meeting that is being held virtually this week.
