At Friday, Eldredge & Clark, we understand that the effective use of Information Technology directly impacts the value we deliver to our clients. We are continually investing in state-of-the-art technology that enhances our effectiveness.
Being highly available to our clients is key. The firm deploys the latest desktop computers connected at gigabit speed to a host of specialized program servers. Outside the office our attorneys have instant access to email, voice mail and faxes via Blackberry and iPhone handheld devices. Redundant email routes and instant failover for email help ensure business continuity.
Our high-speed internet connection, through dual fiber connections, provides access to on-line resources such as Lexis, Commerce Clearing House and the Bureau of National Affairs as well as video conferencing.
The firm’s use of the industry leading Client Relationship Management system, InterAction, provides up-to-date client activity data, matter management and who-knows-who. Our leading-edge graphic phone system provides follow-me rules so that we don’t miss an important client call.
The firm’s use of premier document management software enables production of client documents without reinventing the wheel. Powerful document search capabilities, sharing, versioning and audit control are provided by the Autonomy iManage document management system. Lexis Total Search adds dynamic citation updates resulting in reduced risk, which means a better bottom line for our clients.
Training and documentation are paramount to effective use of the firm’s technology. We strongly believe that our scheduled classes, user documentation and just-in-time, desk-side training are key ingredients to achieving a high degree of staff productivity, which contributes directly to client satisfaction. A dedicated trainer and documentation specialist are part of the IT staff.
Effective litigation case management is supported by the firm’s skilled litigation support staff with expertise in tools like Clearwell for e-discovery early case assessment, Summation for case preparation and Trial Director for case presentation. War room kits stand ready for setup and use when and where needed.
High availability is a foremost technology concern. The majority of the firm’s 75 servers run in a virtual environment using VMWare on powerful blade servers connected to a sophisticated storage area network. Data changes in the main office are replicated in sub-second time to our Disaster Recovery site in Northwest Arkansas. Nightly backups to local and off-site electronic vaults assure recoverability.
Intrusion detection and malware protection help ensure 24/7/365 availability for our attorneys, who can access all firm programs from nearly anywhere, worldwide.
